Yves Ndagano was elected President of the International Forum on Children Affected by Conflict (FICAC) during elections held in Cologne, Germany, in the presence of representatives from several countries, illustrating the international and inclusive nature of this platform.
FICAC is a global platform for exchange, dialogue, and advocacy for the protection, promotion of rights, and well-being of children affected by armed conflict. It places survivors children and young people at the heart of decisions, valuing their voices, experiences, and recommendations in order to guide public, humanitarian, and protection policies at the international level.
The forum aims to raise awareness, mobilize and influence governments, international organizations, NGOs, and civil society to strengthen the prevention of violence, the protection of children, their social reintegration, and their access to justice, education, and essential services in line with global efforts to protect children in conflict and guarantee their fundamental rights.
This election highlights the committed career of Ndagano, born in Bukavu in 1990, a former child soldier and miner in Kivu. A long-time activist in the Democratic Republic of Congo and now an international figure through the arts and activism, he works for peace, justice, and the protection of children affected by conflict.
